If you live on a river, or like to take out that ATV or RV out on the weekend, having adequate coverage is very important. Even if you plan on keeping it in storage for the next few months, you should still have quality coverage.
The summer is hot here in Georgia, which means for most of us a trip out to the lake or the coast to the beach. If you own a personal water vehicle, like a jet ski, paddleboat, or other small craft, consider getting insurance. While not legally required, it is always a good decision to keep your higher cost investments insured with some type of damage and liability coverage.
The state of Georgia requires insurance for some type of recreational vehicles and none for others. For example, RV's, campers, and motor homes require at least minimum liability insurance. This counts for all motor vehicles.
However, vehicles like four wheelers and ATV's are not required to be registered with the state. But if you were to take one of these onto public roads, you would be required to have insurance.
Either way, an ATV costs nearly as much as a motorcycle, and is worth keeping insured, especially when rode out in the woods. You never know what kind of accidents you can have, and coming back with a damaged ATV with no insurance coverage can really hurt the wallet.
